Mini-Grants provide an opportunity for community, public, and private agencies, groups, and individuals to collaborate with the Commission to support their mission. Through Mini-Grant funding, the Commission identifies areas of community need, new partners, and innovative program applications related to the Strategic Plan.

The objective of Mini-Grant funding is to support one time, short-term funding opportunities that encourage innovative approaches to support the three result areas of the Strategic Plan:

• Strong Families
• Children Learning
• Healthy Children

 
         
   
Currently Funded Mini-Grants
 
    Camino Union Elementary Laptop computer lending library for the disadvantaged and/or English learners.   
    Cedar Springs Waldorf School Early childhood classroom environment for the parent-infant, parent-toddler, and pre-school classes.  
    EDPPP Purchase items for a Parent/Newborn and Parent/Infant program.  
    Full of Love Family Childcare Outside equipment (large motor development), preschool supplies (e.g. paint cups, crayons, puppets, manipulative), fencing, storage, mats, special needs equipment.  
    Resa's Childcare Purchase equipment for a Healthy and Active Enrichment Program.  
    The Teddy Bear Inn ADA compliant outdoor play structure and ramp.  
    Under the Magic Pine Tree Playground structure  
    El Dorado Women's Center Expansion of the Personal Safety Program for Young Children with resource materials and tools for children, parents and caregivers.  
    Family Connections "Safe from the Start" trainings (regarding the effects of young children's exposure to violence and trauma).  
    SLT Women’s Center Purchase the "Nurturing Program" parenting materials and Parent Support item.s  
    Val's Kids Preschool Purchase an Emergency Evacuation Survival Kit, materials to create a dry outdoor play area, and an educational rug.  
    EDC Public Health  Dental treatment services for 0 through 5 year olds, which cannot be billed to the children's health insurance plans.  
    Happy Kids Preschool & Day Care Purchase of literacy program (Fletcher's Place by Reading Revolution) training teachers with a parent workshop component.  
    Georgetown Divide Rec. District (Divide Ready by 5) Community Strengthening Early Literacy Focus  
    Choices for Children (Lake Tahoe Collaborative) Community Strengthening Group Socializations Focus
