Gayle Erbe-Hamlin is the El Dorado County Public Health Director. She has been employed by El Dorado County in the Public Health Department for the past sixteen (16) years. As Director, Ms. Erbe-Hamlin manages the Public Health Department’s budget and administrative support divisions and provides overall direction to the department; manages a 20 million dollar budget, and oversees a 135 person staff.
Since graduating with a B.A. in social Science from the University of the Pacific in 1971, she has owned and operated a restaurant for five years in Stockton, CA; been employed by Weyerhaeuser Corporation for eight years as a research scientist in Tacoma, WA; and worked three years in Sacramento, CA for a variety of health care organizations (Sacramento County Health Council and Family Physicians of Sacramento). While employed at Weyerhaeuser Corporation, Ms. Erbe-Hamlin received a Masters of Public Administration degree from Pacific Lutheran University located in Tacoma, WA. Additional education includes a Certificate in Health Services Administration from the University of Southern California and two years of training as an Electron Microscopist. |
